Aspen Systems has been listed for four consecutive years in ColoradoBiz magazine's Top 250 private companies in Colorado - 2003 (#83), 2004 (#96), 2005 (#111), and 2006 (#118). The ColoradoBiz Top 250 Private Companies is a ranking of the top private companies by revenue.

In 2006, Aspen Systems was ranked #7 in Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Colorado. The Technology Fast 50 is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Colorado based on percentage revenue growth over five years. Aspen was also ranked 135th Fastest Growing Company on Deloitte's 2006 Technology Fast 500.

The TOP500 project was started in 1993 to provide a reliable basis for tracking and detecting trends in high-performance computing. Twice a year, a list of the sites operating the 500 most powerful computer systems is assembled and released. The best performance on the Linpack benchmark is used as performance measure for ranking the computer systems. The list contains a variety of information including the system specifications and its major application areas.

Aspen Systems debuted on the TOP500 list at #8 in 2002, building a system that remains on the list at #41 as of June 2004. In addition, an Aspen Systems cluster ranked at #197 in the 2002 TOP500 list.
